The Brief
Ritz Continental has been around since 1978.
That's not just a number. That's four decades of birthday dinners, anniversary celebrations, first dates that became marriages, and children who grew up watching their parents order the same dishes they now order themselves.
When a brand carries that kind of history, a conventional restaurant ad, pretty food shots, mood lighting, voiceover about "an experience like no other", would've been a waste of everything the brand actually stands for.
So we didn't make one.
The Idea
We started with a simple truth: some places become traditions.
Not because of a loyalty programme or a discount card. But because a grandmother brought her daughter there once, and that daughter never forgot it, and now she's the one bringing her own children, and somehow the feeling is exactly the same.
That's Ritz Continental.
That insight became Ritz Ka Safar, a campaign built not around food or ambience, but around the one thing no restaurant can manufacture: time.
"From one generation to the next, our flavours tell the same beautiful story."
The Story We Told
The film followed one family across three generations.
It began in 1983, grandparents, young and unhurried, sharing a meal at Ritz Continental. Then their children, now grown, being brought to the same table for celebrations they still remember. And finally, those children, now parents themselves, walking through the same doors with their own kids in tow.
Same restaurant. Same warmth. Decades apart.
No dramatic plot twist. No product reveal. Just the quiet, beautiful weight of a place that has stayed the same while everything around it has changed. The kind of film you watch and think of someone you love.
How We Built It
Five professional actors. Three generations. One seamlessly executed production.
Every element of talent management was handled in-house, actor sourcing, casting decisions, costume coordination across different time periods, scheduling, and on-set direction. Each actor needed to carry the emotional weight of their era while feeling like they genuinely belonged to the same family. That's a casting brief that requires precision, not just availability.
Papaya Productions managed the entire production, from pre-production planning to cinematography to post. Having concept, talent, and production all under one roof meant nothing got lost in translation between teams. The creative vision that started in a brief room ended up exactly where it was supposed to: on screen.
What Came Out of It
A brand film that felt less like an ad and more like a memory.
Ritz Ka Safar didn't try to sell a meal. It reminded people of the meals they've already had, and made them want to go back. For a 46-year-old brand, that's exactly the right conversation to be having.
For Oregano Engage, it was proof that the most powerful campaigns aren't the ones that shout the loudest. They're the ones that make someone feel something, quietly, genuinely, and in a way that stays with them long after the screen goes dark.
